Yahoo Email Problems

Anybody else out there not able to access their Yahoo email this weekend?

They did tell us they were having problems. But I still can't get past their "about.blank" page. And my anti-spyware can't seem to knock out this latest piece of crapware. Apparently the about.blank malware program is striking again.

If this keeps up I may just have to dump Yahoo and go back to Hot Mail.

A Truly Free Undelete??

A grandchild stole my flashdrive and deleted the stuff I had on it. apparently, he thought he could get away with saying it was his with my stuff deleted.

Anyway, does anyone know either a program that is free or know some commands to undelete my files? I'd appreciate the help very much.

This one has been going around the Internet awhile. I spent almost 3 hours on Friday, knocking out this one on a customer's computer. At one point this little nasty even jumped to his RAM, trying to hide from us, but we caught that too.

Anyone have a lot (or any) experience with minis? I'm considering getting one for traveling purposes -- I'd like to either have Microsoft Word or some type of software to keep track of my travels which I will then transfer to an email for those who receive my "daily journals." Also, I'd like to possibly attach photos (not a lot; just a few) in the same email.

Heard of Asus? Eee makes them as I understand. They've gotten some good reviews. Looking at...

For those that are interested, I was able to spray a boat load of Gumout into the carburetor, replace a dirty air filter, replace a fouled fuel filter and get things going again. Then I discovered the left front tire was flat. (Florida is murder on lawn tractors.) I had to get my old set of slip ring pliers out to remove the slip ring and then the wheel & tire, took it down to Western Auto, where they put an inner tube in it (cheaper than a new tire, they...

I'm downloading the latest version as we speak, 3.1. You can do just about anything that Microsoft Office does with this package. And it's FREE! Well, let me qualify that. While Obama's Marxist-Medicare is going to be very, very expensive for all of us, this package actually is free for the downloading.

MS Office costs about $400 retail. Many of you have this package, either at work or home. You get MS Word, Excel, Power Point, MS Money, and a whole bunch of other stuff.

But an alternative exists, called Open Office, that is absolutely free. And it looks & works just like MS Office! I've been using this package for about 3 months now and it is great! And you can get either the Windows or the Linux version. (I run both O/S's.)...

Audacity allows you to export your .wav file as an .mp3, but only if you download the lame_enc.dll first and put it where Audacity can find it. I did this and it works fine. But I'm not sure what the issue is here, some legal mumbo jumbo about mp3's. Do you know what they are referring to?

Anyway, before that I was using another freebie called Wave 2 Mp3 by some gaming co. It worked at home. But when I tried it at work on an older Pentium II, the recording sounded like Alvin...

I found a couple of places that have outrageously low prices on name brand software. Some of it is OEM and some is retail. For instants, McAfee 2008 Security Suite that goes for $59.00 can be purchased for $12.95. Kaspersky 7.0 Internet Security Suite that goes for $79.00 can be purchased for $23.95. BTW, I am using Kaspersky 7.0 as my Security Suite. There's more than just Security software at these sites.

Here is where I am on my journey with copying my cassettes from a tape player to my computer (and thence to either a C-D, my H-D or a flash stick).

I bought one of those double-ended male cables you suggested. I then found my trusty old Sony Walkman cassette player, which still works after all these years! I put the tape in, launched Audacity, hit the Start button (for the player) and then hit the Record button for Audacity.

I can hear the tape just fine via my computer...
